Google Vacation Rentals and TripAdvisor are search and metasearch channels: they show your property, rates and availability to travelers who have not decided where to book. Optimizing them means accurate listing content and photos, rate parity and availability across channels, and a direct booking link that is competitive with the OTAs.
The Moselle Valley sells mostly through Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo. Holiday rental pricing on the Moselle should follow the wine calendar. We list each village wine festival and harvest weekend as its own event with a two or three-night minimum, because guests book months ahead for them. In summer we price for cyclists and families with shorter minimums midweek, and we use weekly rates for touring guests basing themselves in one town. Winter pricing focuses on December weekends and the Trier Christmas market.
Booking.com is the main channel for German, Dutch and Belgian guests, who make up much of the valley's demand. Airbnb and Vrbo suit holiday homes and vineyard apartments booked for longer stays. We keep parity, highlight river views, vineyard access and bike storage, and use mobile promotions only in the quiet winter months.
The full service is described on our other ota optimization page; this page covers how it applies in The Moselle Valley.
