Google Vacation Rentals and TripAdvisor are search and metasearch channels: they show your property, rates and availability to travelers who have not decided where to book. Optimizing them means accurate listing content and photos, rate parity and availability across channels, and a direct booking link that is competitive with the OTAs.
Gotland sells mostly through Booking.com, Airbnb and local agencies. Rental income on Gotland is decided in a handful of weeks. We open Almedalen Week as early as possible with stays matching the full event, since organizations book whole houses for their teams, and treat Medieval Week as a second premium window. Swedish holiday weeks in July run on weekly bookings that line up with ferry crossings. In shoulder months, two-night Visby breaks and longer cottage stays outside town need different minimums rather than one island-wide rule.
Booking.com carries much of Visby's hotel and apartment demand, including German and Finnish guests, while Airbnb dominates for cottages and summer houses. Local rental agencies still matter for Almedalen, when organizations prefer one contact for several properties. We align minimum stays across channels so an event week is not broken up by short bookings taken on the platform with the loosest rules.
The full service is described on our other ota optimization page; this page covers how it applies in Gotland.
