Google Vacation Rentals and TripAdvisor are search and metasearch channels: they show your property, rates and availability to travelers who have not decided where to book. Optimizing them means accurate listing content and photos, rate parity and availability across channels, and a direct booking link that is competitive with the OTAs.
Halifax sells mostly through Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo. Most Halifax hosts earn the bulk of their year between July and September, so we treat that window like a hotel would: rates loaded early, minimum stays on festival weekends and few unnecessary discounts. Primary-residence hosts often only rent part of the year, which makes each summer night more valuable. In winter, we shift to monthly and medical-stay pricing near the QEII and the universities instead of competing on nightly price.
Airbnb leads for North End and Dartmouth homes, Booking.com wins US and European touring guests who book hotels and apartments together on one itinerary, and Vrbo brings families heading on to the South Shore. We keep parity across all three, use Booking.com promotions in shoulder months only, and highlight parking and walking distance to the waterfront.
The full service is described on our other ota optimization page; this page covers how it applies in Halifax.
