Google Vacation Rentals and TripAdvisor are search and metasearch channels: they show your property, rates and availability to travelers who have not decided where to book. Optimizing them means accurate listing content and photos, rate parity and availability across channels, and a direct booking link that is competitive with the OTAs.
Lake Tahoe sells mostly through Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com. Tahoe STR pricing must balance two peaks and two lulls. We set holiday-week minimums of five to seven nights, weekend minimums through ski season, and raise rates after storms. Summer weeks on the lake get weekly minimums, while shoulder months need flexible rules and midweek discounts. Hot tubs, ski lockers, lake access and garage parking earn premiums.
Vrbo and Airbnb lead for vacation homes, with Vrbo strong for families booking holiday weeks. Booking.com and Expedia matter for hotels and resorts. Permit numbers must be displayed, and guests decide on lift distance, beach access and winter parking, so those facts sit at the top of each listing.
The full service is described on our other ota optimization page; this page covers how it applies in Lake Tahoe.
