Google Vacation Rentals and TripAdvisor are search and metasearch channels: they show your property, rates and availability to travelers who have not decided where to book. Optimizing them means accurate listing content and photos, rate parity and availability across channels, and a direct booking link that is competitive with the OTAs.
Ocean City sells mostly through Vrbo, Airbnb and Booking.com. Vrbo-style weekly pricing still dominates here. We set Saturday-to-Saturday or Sunday-to-Sunday stays in peak, price each July and August week individually, and allow short stays only to fill gaps in June and September. Condo owners compete on view, pool and parking, so we price oceanfront, oceanblock and bayside units on separate ladders. Event weekends get two- or three-night minimums with premiums that fade quickly once the event ends.
Vrbo is the leading channel for weekly family homes, Airbnb catches couples and shorter shoulder stays, and Booking.com and Expedia matter for hotels and condo-hotels. Local rental agencies still control a share of weekly inventory, so we watch their published rates when setting peak weeks.
The full service is described on our other ota optimization page; this page covers how it applies in Ocean City.
